UNLEAVENED BREAD RECIPE - BROWNIES |
Brownies
1 ½ C sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 C granulated sugar
1 C brown sugar
½ C cocoa
2 tsp vanilla
1 C butter or margarine (room temperature)
4 eggs
1/4 C cold water
½ C (or more) Chopped glazed cherries or walnuts or raisins or coconut.
Put all ingredients in a beater bowl in order given and beat on low speed,
scraping down sides of bowl until smooth. DO NOT beat too long.
Butter a large 9 X 13 pan and turn in batter and push into corners and smooth top.
Bake at 350 F for 20 – 25 minutes. If you use a glass pan bake at 325 F instead.
Mint Frosting:
Beat together 2 tbsp of butter, about ½ C icing sugar, 6 or 7 drops of green food colouring,
and ½ tsp of peppermint extract.
