UNLEAVENED BREAD RECIPE - ELEGANT WALNUT HORNS |
ELEGANT WALNUT HORNS
1 Cup + 1 tsp. butter – softened
1 8 oz. package cream cheese softened
3 Cups flour
4 Cups ground walnuts
3/4 Cup sugar
½ Cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
In a large bowl, beat 1 cup better & cream cheese
Until light, gradually add in flour, beating until it forms a ball.
Divide dough into 4 portions and roll each into a 4” circle on
lightly floured wax paper or board.
Melt tsp. butter, and in large bowl combine with walnuts,
sugar, milk, vanilla and salt. Spread over circles. Cut each
circle into 8 or 10 pie shaped pieces. Roll up wedges starting
from the wide ends.
Place with point down on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake
at 325 for 35-40 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from
pan to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Note: A bit time-consuming, but very tasty.
